Born in Montreal, Charles moved around a lot as a child. Raised bilingual (french) in Connecticut he spent his summers in Belgium. As a young adult he moved to New York City and played in jazz clubs almost every night.
After a few years in the big city, he moved to Los Angeles and began attending California State University, Northridge. There his interest in science got him involved with the Postma Nanotechnology Laboratory. After graduating he worked as a data scientist researching ways to mine the mimic iii database in order to determine the value of a patient’s symptoms.
In 2012 Charles joined the Strymon team. Since then he’s been an integral part of the team responsible for the look and feel of the products and software released to the public. He creates sounds as often as he can, currently with the jamband The Alpine Camp, and as a media composer for documentaries and short films, as well as a trained Sound Therapist.
In 2022 he started a new journey as a product/design consultant. He has worked with clients at all stages and in many industries. He is a designer and team leader with a focus on complex creative problem solving and a passion for adapting technology to people.
